Common Ground
COMMON GROUND: a documentary series about the Black and Jewish communities – not just in struggle, but in strength, culture, and faith. The Black and Jewish communities in America have long been allies in the fight against racism and antisemitism, but their connection runs deeper than struggle.
Rooted in shared values – faith, family, food, and community – these two communities have built something powerful together. COMMON GROUND reframes the narrative, shifting the focus from what they’ve fought against to what they’ve created and what they can continue to build. This five-part documentary explores both communities’ activism and celebrates the culture, resilience, and unity that define these communities, inspiring a future where they come together not just in moments of crisis, but in gratitude and growth.
From the Harlem Renaissance to hip-hop, from labor unions to Broadway, Black and Jewish Americans have shaped each other’s stories in profound ways. This series doesn’t just highlight moments of shared hardship – it amplifies the beauty of two communities with a deep commitment to tradition, resilience, and gratitude
